Heineken Facebook App Helps People Disguise BeerTender Purchase As Holiday Gift-Giving

Heineken‘s social media app ‘BeerFriender’ for Facebook, promotes its BeerTender product and offers to facilitate the purchase for those who feel guilty about buying it for themselves.

Heineken’s BeerTender offers an at-home draught beer experience for $99 and although Heineken believe it would make a great purchase, they acknowledge that it isn’t in the holiday spirit to buy one for yourself. So they offer to match those who really want one to someone else in the same situation, so you can both buy one but make it look like it’s a gift.

With the Heineken BeerFriender app, which goes live on the company’s Facebook page today, you and your new “friend” can buy each other a BeerTender, complete with wrapping paper and a gift note. This festive and humorous app provides a “community” spirit for fans and facilitates sales for the company.
