New Apple Store App To Offer Self-Checkout And In-Store Pickups

There’s going to be a new Apple Store iOS app released that will let customers buy items for in-store pickup and self-checkout at Apple retail stores nationwide. According to BGR, the new in-store pickup service will be super-fast, and if the item you order through the app or online is in stock, you can collect it from a designated store in just 12 minutes. You can simply walk into the store, skip the registers, sign for your order and leave with it. If your item isn’t in stock, the app will inform you of the date it should become available and will send you a push notification when it’s ready to be picked up.

Apple’s self-checkout procedure will simply involve taking an accessory off the shelf (the more expensive items won’t be available for self-checkout), opening the Apple Store app on your iOS device and scanning the product with its camera. Then click Purchase, your card will be charged, and you can take your item out of the store.
