Giant QR Codes Might Help Businesses Get Noticed On Google

Businesses looking to stand out on Google Earth and Google Maps can now sport a large QR code on their rooftop. These large QR codes can be seen in Earth View and will be a useful tool for marketers and business owners to increase their presence on Google.

The idea was founded by Phillips & Company, a management consulting firm based in Texas, USA. The venture is called ‘Blue Marble’ and is explained on its website:

By connecting your company’s physical profile on Earth to the millions of people searching for products and services on the Internet, Blue Marble provides an efficient, innovative and effective way to connect you and your customers.

Considering that the Google Earth app has been downloaded 1 billion times, it might not be a bad advertising investment. However, it will take a year for Google to update the bird’s eye view and have your QR code show up. In addition, installing the rooftop QR code will cost $8,500, along with a recurring $200 support and maintenance fee.
